99553123 posted : A quick way to prove to yourself 100%(Dr. Olds said 90%) of these "deals" are scams, simply Google(or whatever) the basic details and you will see, if they list a VIN it makes the result more "interesting", Really? The vehicle is in more than one location thousands of miles apart? Sometimes, ONE of these ads is real but not connected in any way.
As said; there is NO such thing as Ebay Buyer Protection(or whatever they try to call it) outside of an open EBay auction, and you NEVER pay using a third party such as Western Union or Money Gram, you pay either through your Ebay account or cash when you pick up the vehicle, EBay doesn't get into shipping or storage of vehicles, that would be a legal and logistical nightmare for them.

It amazes me that with the research available today people are still scammed.

My 2006 Mazda 6 S V6 Grand Touring is in great shape, no engine problems, damages or hidden defects. It was always garaged and never smoked in. I`m a single mother with 2 children and I have to work very hard to maintain my family. I`m selling it so cheap because I have problems with money. The price is $2,600.00. The car is located in Atlanta GA (i just moved here with my new job) is already crated at the shipping company ready to be sent to any location anywhere in the USA. Like i told you i'll like to use ebay purchase protection because is safe for both, let me tell you how it work:

1. Buyer, seller reach an agreement (price and delivery conditions)
2. Buyer sends money to eBay.
3. eBay confirms to seller that the amount has been received.
4. Seller performs the required services (shipping, insurance).
5. Buyer accepts delivery and informs eBay about the acceptance.
6. eBay releases the money to seller.

As you can see, you will receive the car BEFORE any money is released to me. You will get the chance to inspect it, test drive it and everything you like while your money is still safely held in eBay's account. ONLY after you confirm to eBay that you agree with the car, they will release the money to me.If, for some reason, you disagree with the car (I assure you that is NOT going to happen since my car is in IMMACULATE condition inside and out) it will be shipped back to me on MY EXPENSE and eBay will send you your money back.

I need your full name and full shipping address so i can open this deal with eBay.

Thanks,
- Show quoted text -

On Tue, Mar 8, 2011 at 8:18 PM, Brandon Voth wrote:

Hello,

I have checked on craig's list again and also on Ebay motors and cannot find your listing for the 06 Mazda6. At what point does eBay come into the picture when there was no purchase made on the Ebay Motors Auction web site and no money was transferred through eBay or PayPal? You should always verify what you are being told as being true when money is involved especially if you have never used something like eBay or VPP. eBay warns readers and members as does Craig's List about never wiring money, never believe any ads that have a supposed shipping element where you cannot go and see the vehicle in person. I am sorry that you learned a expensive lesson, but there is some element of personal responsibility that allowed the price to make you want to send money without really looking at the red flags. The way too good of a price should have made alarm bells ring in your head.
--
What’s the point of owning a supercar if you can’t scare yourself stupid from time to time?

anon posted : I'm a single mommy and work part time and go to school. I got into a wreck and my car got totaled so i have been looking for a car desperately.. I found a link on Craigslist about a 2000 Jaguar with only 36,000 miles for only 4,000. The seller from Augusta, GA, who's husband got killed by a Drunk Driver. Of course i decided to do a lot of research on it first and came across a few things that opened my eyes and as i read these comments above i confirmed my suspicion IT IS a SCAM. The pattern to this i noticed is that

-they all immediately sound to good to be true
-they all want to do it trough some auto protection program
- they all give the reason to sell is bc of a tragedy in their life. (death, divorce ect..)
- the post are no where to be found on eBay, but are on craiglist or other.
- they all contacted us by email but not the seller by phone themselves.
- the cars were listed in one certain state but turn out they are in another.-
-Asked for the owner number and they didn't give it to you.

and a few others, i can't really think of right now..

** You should Never, Ever, give or (wire) your sensitive information or money to anyone over the phone and without some sort identification. Thanks to everyone who posted on here for the help, and i hope this post helps someone else. It's not fair and it is evil to cheat people outta their money -which they have worked hard for.
