1 edit | Been running the line monitor and then:
Today, I get this - does anyone know what's going on - it's the same from NY and SF - I see no problem on my end. In TX. |

1 edit | In this particular forum (Verizon FIOS), the post for the free verizon line monitoring is a pinned post, at the top of the list of messages on the first page of this particular forum. If you look at the post, there is a pin to the left of it.
The url for that thread is »Verizon Fiber Optics Line Monitors - Free |

| reply to Vertigo23 Looks like the line monitors that look like yours are in California, Texas and Florida. Question: is *your* internet going out or experiencing serious latency problems?
If your connection is generally ok, it's a problem getting the network monitor pings through.
It could be a routing problem between the monitor server and you, rather than the connection between you and VZ. |

| Yup, mine in Florida looks like yours - horrible! But, I am seeing no operational problems. Internet and email are working fine... even speed tests look normal.
I agree with birdfeedr, looks like a routing problem from the monitor server to my location. |

| reply to Vertigo23 Mine has the same thing starting at 11:30am yesterday. My internet has gone to s**t as well as becouse there appears to be a Verizon/Alter.net router somewhere on the east coast (Either in PA or NY) that is dropping every 10-20 minutes lasting for 1-5 minutes at a time causing half the internet to go down for me.
»ny-monitor.dslreports.com/r3/cri···ge=86400
Of course calling Verizon leads to to the conclusion that "Your router is going bad and needs to be replaced" which is bulls**t since I experience the same issue with 3 different routers as well as having my PC hooked up direct to the ONT. But what more can you expect for the "D" team who works nights and weekends and has no experience troubleshooting a core network issue which is what this is.
Just to give you a nice idea of what I am going through, take a look at the 3rd hop, 20% packetloss over 15670 pings.

It has gotten so bad here I am actually considering calling Comcast and having them come hook me back up since no one at Verizon seems to be able to fix this issue. But I will give them until Tuesday morning before I make that decision, hopefully the people in the Verizon Direct forum can actually get this problem fixed unlike the idiots I have been talking to on the phone who are clueless. |

| See I am having the same thing and they tried to blame the router and I said I am not using a router this is right to the ont and 3 different computers and routers get the same thing and they replaced the ONT and PON card in the central office so it is definitely something on their end with bad routing. |

| It looks like the line monitor is hosed.
They took it down for a bit this morning - and now the East coast version is originating either out of Chicago, or somewhere in the mid-west...lol. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

said by hackysak :That might explain my graph over the last day.. This is what I have been seeing on mine. Although I thought is was becasue of an IP address change since it coincides with FIOS changing my IP address. So I went back to using the AT as my primary route rand putting my Dlink after it so I can try out the new power supply they sent me.
Even though I'm seeing higher ping times to NJ, my internet connection is fine. I'm having no difficulties. I saw zero problems when playing Modern Warfare 2 online last night.
I'm glad I saw this thread. Now that I know there is nothing wrong, I don;t need to worry about it. I was going to change IP addresses but I don't need to now since other people are having similar issues with the NJ site. |
