I thought it was just that the Mayan calendar ended in 2012 not that they had made any "predictions". Thought all the predictions were made by people like Nostradamus.

One actual theory just says the end of the Mayan calendar is intended to be the end of an age for mankind and the beginning of another. Hardly cities being swallowed up by earthquakes. When is Roland Emmerich going to stop being fixated on the destruction of the world? I mean he's done four movies on the subject so far. And I thought Michael Bay was a one trick pony. |

So ultimately the Mayan calendar ends with all the planet aligning is a straight line or something like that? Doesn't sound like doomsday. Sounds like an accurate astrological calendar that stops counting after everything lines up. |

The big change in late 2012 / 2013 is the us health insurance system
and the planet aligning is a straight line happens over a much longer time then one day.
also do we even know if our calender is in sync? did we get the start right? did we start on year 1 or year 0? is date in sync that can be off as well and I'm not talking about leap days. |
