Go Tarheels posted : You can call tech support tomorrow, 8-5 and ask to speak to someone in the AUP dept. They may try to roadblock you, but be persistant, and they will get you to "tier II" and you will have to continue your persistance to talk to someone in the AUP dept. Now I am not certain as to what their exact process is, as they may have someone contact you back. In business (my area) we can take the calls if we are not tied up doing something else.

anon posted : I'm happy to provide more information...although I would rather not specify the exact email address on this bulletin board. It is a URL that I purchased through godaddy. It has the format of info@xxx.net format. I'm using Outlook Express as my email client. I do not have a static IP address and do not operate my own mailserver. This problem occurs on several different computers that access the internet via different DSL lines...all of which are provided by Embarq. All these computers worked fine several weeks ago.

I configured an Outlook Express "account" with info@xxx.net as my "reply to" address. If I configure this account to use the Embarq outgoing server (smtp.embarqmail.com) and then try to send an email to anyone, the email does not reach the intended recipeient....like the embarq outgoing server is just dropping it. I get no bounceback message so as far as I know the email went through....but it didn't!

Next I configured this Outlook Express account with several different outgoing servers: gmail (smtp.gmail.com) and godaddy (smtpout.secureserver.net) and then try to send an email to anyone. It works!! But...if I try to send an email to someone with an embarq email address (*@embarqmail.com) then I get the following bounceback message:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at p3plsmtpa01-07.prod.phx3.secureserver.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

208.47.184.2 failed after I sent the message.
Remote host said: 554 5.7.1 [SC12] Your email was rejected for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. Please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for additional help.

So...I presume this is telling me that the embarq incoming mailserver is blocking my address from going to any embarq customer.

If I remove info@xxx.net from the Outlook Express account "reply to" address....then everything seems to work fine!!

Incidentally...I've been using Outlook Express for all my email accounts for years and never had any kind of problems until a few weeks ago. I have tried three different computers...all of which used to work with the Outlook Express settings. All of them now have the same problem.
