beachintech posted : Most def need a service call. Your upstream didn't even change with the splitter removed. If you are moving then I wouldn't worry about it, but the next tennant may have to. Might be interesting to try and grab some signal stats while you have no access.
--
Tech at the Beach.
I speak for myself, not my employer.

tshirt posted : 2 possible problems jump out here
a} a new firmware is being rolled out for the SB5120 and some of them are have trouble with it/after getting it. (less likely, yours seems to be recieving and understanding the file)
b} Your upstream power level is too high/right at the limit, and probably going over causing a resync/restart.
You probably need a tech visit for some rewiring or adjustments, but you might be able to test this by temorarily removing the spiltter (and tv) and connecting the modem there, directly to the incoming cable. This should improve the upstream and downstream powerlevels.
If it works, post the new power levels back here.

[Connectivity] Connectivity Problems

LambShankz posted : Every few minutes both on my Laptop and on my Xbox I am disconnected from games, websites stop loading, and videos stop streaming, everything usually starts working again less than a minute later but it is very annoying. Most of the time the lights on the modem are all solid but sometimes the lights go off and start coming back on like I just plugged the modem back in. Modem is a Motorola SB5120. I am connected through a Linksys router, Laptop through wireless (Ethernet port broken) and xbox through Ethernet. The cable is split to go to the modem and the tv.

Here is the information it says I should post on here

Signal

Downstream Value
Frequency 597000000 Hz
Signal to Noise Ratio 36 dB
QAM QAM256
Network Access Control Object ON
Power Level -7 dBmV
The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested.
