|  [Internet] Should i get bell internet max 12? is it really fibre
i m REALLY skeptical about getting internet because right now im with primus i should be getting up to 7Mbps and im getting only about 1Mbps! so i need to not get ripped off this time about how much should i expect with this bundle? heres the info »www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpInt_Max10.page BTW is it really fiber optic or is it DSL. |

No, it's NOT really fibre ... it's fibre only as far as the nearest remote, then it's copper the rest of the way. The question is, where is your nearest remote with the RSLAM. If it's too far away, you'll never get anywhere near advertised, just like Primus. |

Bell is reserving the higher speed ports in the "remotes" as they have been called for customers who want the higher speeds like 10, 12, 16 etc. If you are on Primus they may have their own dslam and most likely it is located in the "co-locate" area of the Bell Central Office. If there is a "remote" in your area then it should show that 10 meg is available if you go to the qualification page on the bell website. I have 10 meg with a 100 Gig cap where I am and I am wired from an ONU (optical network unit) where the fiber comes to the OPI (outside plant interface) a couple of streets over and I am happy with it. If they don't deliver...you have the option to cancel.

GTA Canada | In answer to your question you can't necessarily find the remote but if you say that "all" are available to you then it is safe to say the remote is available to you if you choose the higher speeds.

If all internet services are avalaible, then you probably have a OSLAM... but you don't necessarily need a remote if your really close to the CO. |

alright so... to actually answer your question it is not worth it at all... never will be and never has... go to cable, cant really go wrong with cable
and just to make things clear once more dont get that max 12 whatever thingy your thinking about getting because your gonna waste ur money especially since bell throttles like mad

I'd like to add my 2 cents in.
Do not go with Cable! Especially Rogers! I just switched from Rogers to Bell. Never been happier. Bell has faster download speeds and upload speeds. That's just my experience, your may be different. Though I do know that everyone will be affected by Rogers high prices and backstabbing.
And with Bell, you get what you pay for. You pay for 12Mbps, you will get at least 11.4Mbps in most cases. Though your line stats could affect this.
Definitely, go with Bell. I will recommend them any day. |

Consider yourself very fortunate.
When the beavers were still employed by Bell, they tried to tell me I could get "up to 7M". I can NOT even get 4M. I'm on a 3008/512 FP profile, and until the pair I was on in the F2 cable was switched to another pair, I was having major trouble with holding 3M.
Take a look through the forums, and you'll see how many were led to believe they were capable of great speeds, only to be dashed.
Most folks aren't fortunate to wither live by the CO or remote. |

I have Cogeco it is fast, inexpensive and a solid connection for over a decade. Never go near my cap.

WiMAX is the one I left the review for, so the "smart" anon user above me thought that was what I was referring to.
I am referring to my experience with Rogers Cable Internet. Which as far as reliability goes, was worse then Rogers WiMAX.

The point I'm getting at? Testimonials about the reliability/speed of the service mean absolutely nothing if it's not coming from someone in the area being asked about. |
