It's been a VERY frustrating weekend.

This weekend I had scheduled ATT to come out and install UVERSE. The Tech showed up on time but found a problem with my line. She called out a line tech. He started digging in my back yard and pulled up the line and started testing. Then he ran a new line from the pole to the interface box outside my house. After 4 hours, the original tech came in and said they couldnt get UVERSE to work because I was too far from the "Box". I asked her if my original phone and DSL would be ok and she said they didnt touch the phone or DSL. They left. I tried to get on the internet and guess what... No DSL service. I try the phone, no Dial tone. Also, they left the newly run line draped across my fence and ground. They didnt bury the cable or suspend it. This is only minutes after the techs left. I call ATT and they tell me the best they can do is get someone here 5 days from now. Needless to say I'm pissed. I decided to open the "customer" side of the interface box. I found the green wire was not connected to the post. i connected it and now i get a dial tone. DSL is still dead. I called DSL support and and they will try to get someone out tomorrow to look at it. unfortunately, they can only send someone out during hours I'm at work. I can't take of so they are going to try to fix it without me being there. needless to say I've spend the last 24 hours getting to know just about every department ATT has. I don't blame ATT I blame the two techs who up and left a mess. oh and i still don't know if this cable is going to be properly buried.

The Dsl Tech came out today and he was a really nice guy. He was floored that the Uverse techs left everything in the state they did. They had removed the dsl equipment from the Interface box and replaced it with the uverse connectors. When I asked them if my DSL and phone would be back the way it was before they started I was told they didn't touch any of the DSL stuff. So not only were the original techs liars, they were just plain lazy and didn't want to correct their work.

Good news is, I'm back up and running. Thanks Rex.
