I addressed it in my earlier post - but here it is again:
The subscriptions are short term to make sure you are still a customer of AT&T. If for any reason you disconnect AT&T - they don't want you to continue to get free AV.
To break it down: It auto renews - if your still an AT&T customer when it renews then it stays active. If your not a customer then it tells the subscription expired.
