Ad-Hoc AP Remote Management Rule on Wireless Router

Hello,

We have a D-Link DIR-655 router which is used as a public wireless network which also has a printer connected to it via ZIO AP which has been configured as a client to provide this public printer with networking capabilities.

I have been trying to get this ZIO AP to allow remote management by setting up a rule on the D-Link but this does not seem to be working. The wireless network and the print client is on the same subnet and I have tried make it remotely accessible on a port using both Port Forwarding and Virtual Server rules but this does not seem to work.

When you connect to the Wireless Network and type in the address of the ZIO it works fine but if you forward/open a port and do this remotely should it not work the same? There is no option on the ZIO to allow port configuration for remote management so not sure if that is part of the problem.

Any help or advice which could point in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
Max
