FiOS iPhone app?

Does anyone know if FiOS will release an iphone app that will allow me to integrate email, phone and dvr capabilities? I haven't seen this discussed.

Comcast has an app that allows you to get your VM, email and channel lineup from iphone, no dvr though

They have their own wireless network, and no iphone so I don't believe they will support a device which their wireless counterpart does not sell.

Agree with the above 100%. I would forget about an iPhone app for the next 12 months while waiting to see if the rumored VZ iPhone hits 3Q10.

Email should be handled by the iPhone just like your desktop. DVR access via web browser. Dedicated app is not likely. For the Droid, sooner than iPhone.

In the meantime, try m.verizon.com. You can use it for remote DVR.

I have never had any problems with it. Although I'd like to be able to view what I have recorded and what is scheduled.

Yes, that would be very nice.

There are quite a few people that have Verizon phones, and have an ipod touch. These people could also benefit from a FiOS App.

An app would be nice for the iPod touch (ehm. iPhone) but I think the smarter and easier to main route would be a web portal like they do now with m.verizon.com.

No, that means they have to maintain two different interfaces, and as long as your phone doesn't have a really crappy browser you too can use the web portal.

The screen size is the drive for two different Interfaces. A better browser is not the fix.

I just downloaded the FiOS Remote DVR app for my Sprint BlackBerry Tour. It works and looks great. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep, I got it for my Storm2, Vz's site said it would not work on the phone (guessing they have not updated the site to detect the Storm2 as ok), but I found a link to d/l it from and works great. Just wish I could access both DVRs from the app.

What you can only control one DVR? I was going to add another DVR (for DW) so she can remote into hers from her blackberry too.

maybe so, but with the m. version, you can't see what you have set to record, or what you have recorded (if you want to delete something)
Also, you can't just view your "favorites" channels.

Those would all be very welcomed features, but I think the primary reason most of us use our phones to program the DVR is for those, "Oh crud!" moments when you forget to program something or you can't make it home or to a networked computer in time. I don't think it's meant to be used for scanning the channels looking for a few things to record for later viewing. As devices become more powerful and wireless network speed and reliability improve, these options will become more important.

Ya, the mobile app seems to only control the multiroom DVR. The mobile site (m.verizon.com/tv) can control all of your DVRs.
