[Rant] usps = run by a bunch of idiots

why you ask

they are Forwarding Someone else mail

without our last name on it or from the old address

the Forwarding Label shows our last name on it

A simple scrawl, "Not at this address," and returning the mail to the mailbox will solve that. Not immediately, mind you, but the carrier will eventually get the message.

It's not always the post office's fault. I'm still getting mail from the guy who lived here before me, and I've been here 18 months. Granted he was deployed for a year, but when he came back he moved into a different apartment, but didn't tell his bank OR the VA, who have been sending his meds here. We have the same bank so I accidentally opened his statement but knew the transactions weren't mine so I took it to the bank on my next trip and never got another one. I got a prescription just last week. I tossed it hoping that when he called because it didn't show they would correct the maling address.

Were they sending him crates of morphine or anything?

(Just asking.)

they are Forwarding mail from someone elses address

a ADDRESS OR STREET WE NEVER LIVED at

Different last name (and none of us have the same first name)

the item was from the
Social Security Administration(it shows on the envelope)

and they item typically has sensitive info that is why i did not leave it in the mail box

I understand what you were saying. I'm saying that maybe the post office got a change of address that was filled out wrong and you got the mess.

Call the post office that's doing the initial forwarding and speak to the postmaster.

I think she means that the unknown party that filled out the form filled it out wrong.

Perhaps the Post Office were unable to understand the written instructions you gave them?

Supposedly, UPS claimed that they could deliver First Class Mail for roughly half the price the USPS charges.

No, it's not his mail, he's receiving someone else's forwarded mail.

What UPS didn't tell you was that your envelope would be bashed to heck and probably torn open.
