| I miss trash...
Never thought i would say this after the atrocities that TBC played on me with trash, but after doing ToC for weeks and weeks i miss trash pulls. I think Ulduar got it right with the trash and i hope that ICC follows the same suit. I liked how the trash was deff hard, but at the same time there were never more than 2-3 of the same kind of mob in a given area. Maybe besides Freya, i really cant wait for some good old trash in ICC. -- Coffee, Tea, SEGA!!! |

| reply to Archivis Maybe i would be happy with no trash if ToC had more than one hard boss in teh whole raid. Its sad to raid once a week and clear the whole thing on Normal, Heroic, and then do 10 man normal and Heroic. While still having enough raid time for VoA, ony and half of ulduar 25. Although at the same time it makes for an easy raid week. I guess you could see it either way. I enjoy raiding though. -- Coffee, Tea, SEGA!!! |

| Blizzard should go with the Blackwing Lair model for pacing. BWL had the right amount of trash and bosses. Ulduar is pretty similar to that. -- 'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.' -Thomas Jefferson - |

Ignis trash is frustrating, then iron council which requires some CC, then there's freya trash, Hodir's, and not to mention Mimiron (whic is skipabble with a couple of pallies) |

If Ulduar had BWL pacing then why not just say they should go with Ulduar pacing in ICC? Why the throw back? My all time favorite trash is ZA though. Some really nice trash in ZA. -- Coffee, Tea, SEGA!!! |

Ulduar has an appropriate amount of it though. The General trash is enough to make me hate life, esp. on 25. |

I complete skipped the Ulduar phase of this game because I'm just sick of it. I ran OS and EoE and only did Naxx enough to get decently geared. I've ran ToC and VoA every week. I'm sure ICC will be full of it because they will likely want to place an army guarding the Lich King. Since that place is the highlight of the expansion I'm willing to deal with that, but Ulduar seemed like a side event. |

Most visually appealing raid, most fun bosses, best ratio of trash/boss and the most story of anything short of ICC. -- This post is my opinion.
The fact that my opinion usually agrees with the generally accepted practice of the class communities I'm part of should have no bearing on whether or not you accept it as a valid one.

| reply to awesome I agree about Ulduar.
That place was phenominal the first few months of farming it.
So fresh and new compared to anything that had been released. It has the perfect amount of boss encounters, and trash.
It has since gotten stale, but that's expected from 7-8 months of farming it weekly. |

| reply to Critsmcgee Although trash serves as a "Noob deterrant", like VoA trash, if the raid isn't good enough they will wipe on the trash, the VoA trash mobs do some of the attacks of the main boss they are protecting, still some people manage to get undergeared pass the trash to fail on the boss.
Granted some Ulduar bosses don't have trash like Razorscale but the encounter has it's own trash included.. |

| I'm actually a fan of trash but it has to be interesting trash like you find in Ulduar (especially the groups before Vezax). I have a feeling ICC will be a combo of garbage like you find in Naxx, and some that require a bit of thought like in Ulduar. |

Trash has been fine in general, what should not be happening is respawn timers. Anyone remember the first Core hound in MC? I think it has a 20 minute timer. |

They started to learn there lesson in TBC and I think they did a pretty good job balancing the tedium with interesting encounters in Ulduar. I expect that ICC trash will have some interesting mechanics and feel almost like mini-boss fights mixed in with fun AOE pulls like the worms in Hodir wing. It will be used as a pacing mechanism, to control the amount of attempts raids get on each boss before respawns. Trash needs to be fun while at the same time serve as a deterrent once respawns occur, it is a tough balancing act. |
