| Cleaning Stuffed Animals
I have a collection of stuffed teddy bears that has been neglected for a few years and collected a good amount of dust. I tried using the dusting attachment on the vacuum, but that didn't go so well. Anyone have suggestions for getting them clean that doesn't involve washing or monumental amounts of labor (and no or little cost)? And, please, if you don't have a legit suggestion, kindly refrain from posting.
Thank you. -- There is no giant fur-bearing trout. |

1 edit | I want to say that shaking them in a garbage bag with corn starch might help.
Reference
said by "From Article" : Clean stuffed animals To clean a stuffed animal toy, rub a little cornstarch onto the toy, wait about 5 minutes, and then brush it clean. Or place the stuffed animal (or a few small ones) into a bag. Sprinkle cornstarch into the bag, close it tightly, and shake. Now brush the pretend pets clean.

Are they valuable? If not, I've had luck putting stuffed animals inside of a pillow case, tying it shut and washing in the machine on gentle. I then hung them out to dry. I would not, however, try it on any that are irreplaceable. |

| reply to DC DSL You could try some of that carpet/upholstery cleaner that comes in a spray can. Just spray on, let soak for a bit, then vacuum clean.
Maybe check some of the stuffed toy/Beanie Baby collector message boards for ideas.
You might be able to have them dry cleaned for a few bucks each.
Hope that's helpful.

@cableone.net | reply to DC DSL To clean artificial plants, put them in a bag with clean salt granules. The salt loves the dirt and will take it up. Should work for stuffed animals too. |

| reply to DC DSL Don't wash them, the cotton inside of them can get lumpy. Toss them against a wall (not throw them) unless they have glass eyes. -- »www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/ |
