That sucks, but I have to say that has never been the case with me. ALL (and I mean all) of my Fedex packages were delivered the day before the delivery date.
UPS is the same - always delivered on time - occasionally (such as during the holidays) it arrives the day after.

If this was last week there was a message afixed the top of there pages mentioning bad weather in certain states causeing slowdowns and delays....I think that was nice since ups doesn't tell you that.

Rob, that sounds kinda fishy to me. They're pretty good about the delivery date being EXACTLY the date it'll be delivered. If you have an outlier that gets there early, that's one thing, but to state that every item you've ever shipped with them has been there before promissed just sounds way off. Those estimates are based on thousands of prior shipments and intricate tools designed to know exactly what routes are used. You don't work for FedEx do you?

I've just always received on the specific day with very very few exceptions. But that's just me. At any rate, sounds like FedEx should then upgrade their route management software....sometimes early is not good if you're expecting it on a certain day, particularly if you have to be around to sign for it. They should be able to nail the exact date every time.

I work for your friendly neighborhood cable company. I'm not kidding, every item that I have received from Fedex has arrived the day prior. Unfortunately most places I use ship with UPS, which arrives always on the delivery date.

I'd actually prefer UPS in the example you mention. To me, early is no good as I prefer to try to "meet" certain packages rather than have them sitting around all day on the porch. If they're always a day early then they should update their system to tell you the right day. IMO, faster is only better if it's "accurate" per their schedule.

I have noticed in my numerous online purchases that every site offers an option to get next day delivery or other options at a price. The fed ex and ups even usps shipments usually come in a day anyway depending on where it is making the option for next day costly.
I try and shop with sites haveing drop ship points around me or the sites warehouse close by state-wise.
Do not fall for next day for extra money, it is a scam and the website itself cannot guarentee how long it will take since they are not the shipping company doing the shipping. If you live in the boonies, you will never get your pakage next day from anyone.
