Holy work line speeds!!

I never did a speed test at work before and was really surprised to see this result. As we only have one DSL line for the public internet this is a crazy profile to say the least.

That's messed up. What kind of connection is it?

That or it's a fiber line of some kind and the upload is massively saturated.

You've got me curious. I want to say it's a cache bug of some kind, but never know.

I did the test 6 times and that was the average speed. Very strange to say the least. Checked the demarc and it is only copper coming out of it with regular phone wire to the modem.

Did you try other speedtests, like »speedtest.cogeco.net or actually downloading a file from a fast place like Microsoft?

Try this link...

I would actually expect a higher upload speed for business purposes, but it really depends what you're doing with it.

The real kicker will be the price you pay for that. I'm not asking for the price, I'm just saying... I'm only impressed by good deals, not raw statistics.

Another big factor is how busy the connection was while that test was taken.

The sync/profile speed should be 30Mbps or more the upload sync speed could be up to 2Mbps
The distance to the dslam is likley less than 3000ft
I'm thinking $60 or more for the speeds

Not too sure of the details for the package I can look into it though and post it at a later time though.

I do know that the Bell office that we are connected to is only about 300 feet away from our building. Just down the street really. My home internet goes to the same building as well and it is with Teksavvy, I live about 1.5 KM away at my residence though.

Just like with adsl the shorter the distance to the dslam more speed is available
I've seen vdsl max rates as high as 75Mbps

Most times download is same as upload here at work. I'd kill for this speed at home.

How did you get VDSL at your office? To my knowledge there's no business offering for it.

From what I understand we (business) are partnered with Bell on some level. That may have something to do with it.
