Re: No O'Hare

I think Boingo just aggregates hotspots, including AT&T and T-Mobile.

ATT and Tmobile basically set it up so they can accept Boingo logins, but the Boingo software will hide the native ATT or Tmobile SSID and only let you see the Boingo SSID.

If you are an ATT dsl customer and also use boingo, when running the Boingo software you only see the Boingo SSID and could be tricked into paying when if you knew it had an ATT SSID you could connect for free.

O'Hare doesn't get it for one very important reason....a free service does not have anything to kickback or skim to Hizzoner Daley or his cronies.

"Whad...free? Ya mean I don't get nothin'? Forgettaboutit!"

To the Chicago Aviation Department, airport WiFi is like a parking meter, merely a revenue source.

So says the Florida redneck.

In reality, AT&T and T-mo have contracts at O'Hare, and if you know what you are doing you can get free access from both.

A redneck perhaps, but one that lived in Chicago for 30 years.
