Over the past week accessing the Google-brand of sites, including youtube.com. Routes have been pretty consisting reporting 15+ hops. Anyone else experiencing slowness?

It is unclear why the Google CDN is responding with a server that is not local to you. We will report it to Google

NOTE: Number of hops has little impact on latency with today's router technology. Speed of light / physical distance does however. |

Try the same traceroute to www.google.com (not google.com)?
• google.com translates to a non-localized IP address.
• www.google.com and other service names should localize better |
