| Well that's interesting.
But we'll have to see if there's some REASON they're dropping prices, such as major changes in transfers or the max overage charge.
I'm sick and tired of Extreme users getting ripped off compared to Express, so a modest price bump to go to Extreme Plus might be worthwhile. Unless they plan on [finally] throwing us Extreme users a bone with some additional speed. |

When Rogers cuts prices you know there's something wrong. |

| The one thing I KNOW can't be the reason is that it's because Bell's doing an excellent job.
I can think of a couple of possible reasons to explain why they are cutting prices. They will be doing something nasty with transfer limits to make the tiers pay for themselves in other ways. Or they now have excess network capacity and figure they can sell more speed at less cost. Not usually something that a company like Rogers would do, but if no one is buying the tiers they might be motivated. |

I have a strange feeling that with the UBB defactor scam complete, we are about to be introduced to something similar to "data passes" for the Internet. |

| As Docsis 3 is rolled out to more areas they are dropping the price to make in more affordable to the "general" user. The high prices were targeted at the early adopters who will pay just about anything.
Since wide scale rollout has started the prices are now dropping and they begin the push to move more people to the Docsis 3 platform.
There's no big conspiracy.
I will switch as soon as they have a modem other than that SMC gateway. |

I have to admit, I'm a little suspicious! |

Of course we're a little suspicious, it's not in Rogers demeanor to cut prices without getting something in return.
There has to be a catch. A cookie to the one who finds it. |

| reply to JAC70 Is there a requirement to purchase an different modem for these tiers? I already own a Motorola.
I am a bit skeptical that this is actually real. The price of the Extreme Plus tier looks reasonable to me. If you get the extra speed and go from 95gb to 125gb as indicated on the Rogers site, I would definitely be interested in upgrading. |

sbrook Premium,Mod join:2001-12-14 H0H 0H0 | While technically possible, even with DOCSIS 1.0, they're only enabling this tier on DOCSIS 3 modems. |
