| No it doesn't. The WiMAX systems work on the same frequency. It's just that equipment standardization is a good thing, and Xohm uses more ZyXEL stuff while Clear uses Motorola. If everyone has the same home modem, crap is much easier to troubleshoot. |

The "million incompatible WiMax implementations" are using pre-certification gear. Just like with the 802.11n...vendors have been selling pre-cert gear for years and most provide a firmware upgrade to bring the hardware in compliance once the standard has been ratified. -- »www.VoIPTrunk.com |
