| What I Like Best...
We always hear about the negative aspects of World of Warcraft so I thought I would change it up a bit. Some of us have been playing the same game for over 4 years and longer and I'm sure to the non-players they must wonder what in the world keeps us playing AND paying for a computer game. Hence this topic. My bet is the answers will vary greatly.
What I like best about World of Wacraft is... -- Hunting is a sport... except only one side knows it's playing - anon comedian

| reply to kingdome74 I have always loved traditional RPG's. The one thing I hated was that they ended. You spent so much time leveling up and getting gear and then it actually ended. Final Fantasy got close to a never ending game (some of the last ones were not fully linear and you could mull around the world if you wanted), but didn't do it fully until their MMoRPG. So I love the fact that I can spend hours on a toon (or in my case multiple toons) and never have to worry about the game ending...that is until WoW fizzles out. |

| reply to kingdome74 I always liked the replayability. So many quests/characters/combinations of weapons and classes. Different factions and playstyles (PvE, RP, and PvP servers).
Just to explore all the possibilities and storylines of each class could take a long time. It's great |

| reply to kingdome74 I enjoy just about every aspect of the game. In my opinion 95% of WOW's negatives are created by asshole people. I've been playing since launch and it's been a great ride.
I'll also second what liquoranne and Grimcrusader said above. It certainly beats watching tv like a zombie and I love that it never ends. |

| Hah.
I like the people I play with best about WoW.
Traditionally when the group of people I'm playing with stops playing or something comes up IRL and I can't play any more and I come back and they've moved on, I don't really get excited. It's all about the people for me. I live on Vent.
My favorite thing about LK is that I'm finally what a lot of people consider "good" at it. I was bad in vanilla (Everyone was bad in vanilla...) very mediocre in BC (when I played) but I've really found a niche in LK. -- Come play Mafia! | My Picture Blog |

| Yeah as far as I know, there was no Thottbots, Wow-heroes, Maxdps, etc. during Vanilla.
There was no clicking on a character and seeing what they were spec'd as, to figure out how they were doing insane damage.
A lot of Vanilla was figuring things out yourself, and going from there. |

| Thottbot and Wowhead existed, but they were item databases with ignorant comments and talent calculators.
The WoW community is much more mature (and not in the not-brain-dead-teenagers way) than it was then for obvious reasons. There were people who figured stuff out, and they were the best. You had maybe one or two per server, often not even that.
There was no one to tell me how to DPS properly on my hunter @ 60. People had some ideas, but it wasn't concrete. "Hit cap? Wth is that?"
The game is not necessarily more complex, however it was much more of a mystery to the vast majority of players. -- Come play Mafia! | My Picture Blog |

| reply to kingdome74 I probably would have said the people back in vanilla and early BC when I was raiding, but they've all left and I'm still playing so I guess it's more than that.
I like the sense of accomplishment I get from building my character, mastering content and pwning noobs. I've tried the other mmo's but they're all lacking one or more things that wow has.
Wow is pretty much my hobby. |

| reply to kingdome74 The variety. I play 9 classes in the same zones doing the same quests, but each class plays differently. Currently I have 20 characters, 10 Alliance 80s, one of each class and 10 Horde 40s, one of each class, my Horde Death Knight is 71.
The cost. For $80 I have six months of entertainment. Not including the cost of my Internet connection which I would have even if I didn't play the game.
The ability to create your own gear. Playing 10 different characters at a time allows me to shift materials to where ever they are needed to craft gear that is helpful to the rest of my characters, saving me money since I don't have to buy it. -- When will the people realize that with DRM they aren't purchasing anything? |
