Re: Refill or OEM cartridges?

I've been refilling cartridges on a Canon MP160 for over 2 years -- the printer works as good as new and the cartridges are still good.

$15 lasts 1 year for black and color, 6 refills each.

$350 saved by not buying overpriced manufacturer ink -- it's also better for the environment (not that I care, but some do).

Only thing I had to do with the printer software was disable the ink cartridge meter and every time you refill, you must remove the excess ink from the cartridge, you'll get a guide so you shouldn't worry.

Shop around on ebay, some buyers use premium ink, some don't... I purchased a set once for $6, ink quality was mediocre, another set for $15 and I couldn't notice the difference between the manufactures ink.

Well... heck, I've still got an HP Laserjet IIP plus printer, works well, used a toner that's 2-3 years old that I'd bought then... no problems. Though there was a problem with one of them.

This year the printer started throwing up 3 different printing problems, and all had to be addressed by replacing the different parts in the printer.

But no toner problems. I use refill toners.
