 | Verizon iPhone Conspiracy I know this may sound hard to believe, but: VZW has an Asian company "invent/leak" photos of a world iPhone, smaller than the iPhone 3G S. The reason: VZW will be getting something other than the iPhone, such as, the Apple Tablet or an iPod Touch item usable on their network. Why would they do that: because VZW is afraid of losing further "market share" to AT&T over the iPhone; this will keep VWZ customers (like me) held hostage until at least until the Q3 2010 thereby keeping paying customers in their system. Also, I have been out of contract for almost a year now and I have been getting pressed VERY HARD by VZW to go for a new two year plan. I get calls at home, calls and texts on my cell phone, emails and when I go to manage my account at the VZW site - I get a message asking me to renew my plan. Folks, as far as I can see......this is all a conspiracy invented by good ole' Verizon. I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. BTW, Apple announces their product updates usually in January and June at the WWDC. Typically, Steve Jobs does the presentations for really big items. The Apple Tablet on the newly released VZW 4G network (in some areas) will be a big item. |

AT&T couldn't offer Apple enough money to keep it exclusive at this point. Apple's sales figures are staggering (more importantly their profits) selling to 50% of the market on GSM. Double your potential market, double your profits. Even if this phone design is a throw away for ~2-3 years of legacy CDMA support it will make Apple an insane amount of money. |

 | reply to flyfish2000 I agree with you completely on AT&T not being able to give Apple enough money to keep Apple with them and the economy of scales, including a short term CDMA phone. I just made the story up because every article/blog I have recently read uses the same unconfirmed report from Apple Insider and OTR: (»www.appleinsider.com/articles/09···010.html). What happened to REAL Journalism? Personally, I have no idea what is going to happen. I just wish each company would let their direction be known and not keep us customers held hostage. That's really bad customer support and tells me all of the companies could care less about anyone but themselves. If I knew VZW was not going to get the iPhone and/or a similar device from Apple, I would port my number over to AT&T. I am in NJ and I have heard that coverage is fine hear from various friends that have the iPhone. |

 | If you live in NJ an stay here most of the time I'd say go for it. I just got a 3GS I live near the shore in NJ and I constitantly have good service and a good 3G coverage which is usaully in the 1 - 1.5 mbps range and 7.2 hasn't even been deployed in NJ yet. |
