pnh102Reptiles Are Cuddly And PrettyPremium join:2002-05-02 Mount Airy, MD | Oops quote: AT&T continues to claim that the ads, which compare Verizon and AT&T 3G coverage, don't highlight how customers outside of 3G areas can still get voice service and slower EDGE connectivity.
So AT&T wants people to know that outside of the blue areas on the map, the coverage is even worse?
Sorry AT&T, the best strategery at this point is to simply accept the truth and build out more 3G coverage and significantly improve service across the board.
And I say this as a longtime AT&T customer. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012! |

 | reply to pnh102 The best strategy is for Verizon to fill in their red spaces on the map with real 3g connectivity so paying customers aren't being lied to. |
|
 | reply to pnh102 The ads must be having an effect on users dropping AT&T or they wouldn't be squealing so loudly. They are sounding desperate. I hope the court doesn't give AT&T what it wants. The court shouldn't order the ads pulled - especially because they are truthful. |

VZW has them beat hands down in 3G coverage. Best to get off their ass and expand 3G coverage if they don't want competitors pointing out their ass sitting. |

In reality, they could fire back and poke fun at the lack of desirable handsets on Verizon's network, they could poke fun at Verizon's crippling of software and charging extra for things like GPS and Visual Voicemail. And ultimately, they could tout how many iPhone users they have and how many Verizon doesn't.
I think that would be much more effective than drawing even more attention to it, not to mention it validates the ads. My Mom always taught me that if someone makes fun of you for something, either ignore it, laugh along, or poke fun right back. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

Z801 point 77Premium join:2009-08-31 Amerika | But given VZWs millions and millions of satisfied subs, the desirable handset thing is subjective. The coverage is objective. Particularly with the iPhone, while hugely popular there certainly is no shortage of people who think it's a total P.O.S. and AT&T cripples their handsets at well. Look how long it took to get MMS on the iPhone. Look at VOIP or streaming media on the iPhone (eg Sling or Sirius/XM). Tethering on the iPhone? Not without JBing.
AT&T could stick with compelling stuff it does have like rollover and get off its ass with the 3G footprint. |

You are absolutely correct that all those are subjective, but since when has marketing and advertising ever been fact based? I happen to agree with you and I think Verizon offers nice handsets, but my point was there are wildly held opinions they could just as easy create a marketing campaign around rather than suing.
I think they're already poking fun at Verizon's Friends and Family, noting that you don't get to keep the minutes you save by using Friend's and Family. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

1 edit | reply to Matt Sorry, my Droid uses open source software, Google navigation is free ...
Gonna have to another tack.
My Droid has been an endless source of entertainment the past four days as I embarrass the IPhone owners with all the things it can do that they think are unique to their overpriced, over hyped CRAPPLE products.
My favorite is when I show them how simple it is to add music and video to my device while they have to plug their REGISTERED phone into a specific computer and start up ITunes and hope it doesn't puke all over their OS again. |

| reply to pnh102 Typically I see over 100kbps on EDGE, sometimes as high as 240kbps. I find it acceptable in "BFE" areas. It's unacceptable in more densely populated areas where the bandwidth is likely to be consumed though.
I'm all for Verizon's campaign, anything to push AT&T to do more deployment is welcome in my book. AT&T, instead of paying your lawyers, upgrade some towers. -- AT&T U-Hearse Your funeral. Delivered.

I'm a former iPhone user and I'm really enjoying the Droid, but disparaging the iPhone in light of everything it has accomplished is childish.
