Re: Oops I agree.
In reality, they could fire back and poke fun at the lack of desirable handsets on Verizon's network, they could poke fun at Verizon's crippling of software and charging extra for things like GPS and Visual Voicemail. And ultimately, they could tout how many iPhone users they have and how many Verizon doesn't.
I think that would be much more effective than drawing even more attention to it, not to mention it validates the ads. My Mom always taught me that if someone makes fun of you for something, either ignore it, laugh along, or poke fun right back. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

Z801 point 77Premium join:2009-08-31 Amerika | But given VZWs millions and millions of satisfied subs, the desirable handset thing is subjective. The coverage is objective. Particularly with the iPhone, while hugely popular there certainly is no shortage of people who think it's a total P.O.S. and AT&T cripples their handsets at well. Look how long it took to get MMS on the iPhone. Look at VOIP or streaming media on the iPhone (eg Sling or Sirius/XM). Tethering on the iPhone? Not without JBing.
AT&T could stick with compelling stuff it does have like rollover and get off its ass with the 3G footprint. |

You are absolutely correct that all those are subjective, but since when has marketing and advertising ever been fact based? I happen to agree with you and I think Verizon offers nice handsets, but my point was there are wildly held opinions they could just as easy create a marketing campaign around rather than suing.
I think they're already poking fun at Verizon's Friends and Family, noting that you don't get to keep the minutes you save by using Friend's and Family. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

1 edit | reply to Matt Sorry, my Droid uses open source software, Google navigation is free ...
Gonna have to another tack.
My Droid has been an endless source of entertainment the past four days as I embarrass the IPhone owners with all the things it can do that they think are unique to their overpriced, over hyped CRAPPLE products.
My favorite is when I show them how simple it is to add music and video to my device while they have to plug their REGISTERED phone into a specific computer and start up ITunes and hope it doesn't puke all over their OS again. |

I'm glad you're enjoying your Droid, but you don't need to crap on iPhone users in order to do it. Embrace the competition, it's good for us customers. -- AT&T U-Hearse Your funeral. Delivered.

Embrace the competition, it's good for us customers. I agree. I'm a former iPhone user and I'm really enjoying the Droid, but disparaging the iPhone in light of everything it has accomplished is childish. I would wager that without the iPhone, Motorola would still be releasing iterations of the Razr. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

Go use a Droid, then go use those other phones you mention. They are worlds apart. Hell, go look at any video review of the Droid vs the iPhone 3G. Here's a good one: »www.technobuffalo.com/blog/mobil···hone-3gs
The Droid is no more an iPhone killer than the iPhone is a Droid killer. They are different phones, offering different things. Want a controlled, compartmentalized user experience? The iPhone is for you. Want a more open, much more customizable experience? The Droid is for you. Other than that, they offer essentially the same features.
The Razr didn't sell as well as the iPhone for at least a year but went on to sell 50 million worldwide in a scant 2 years; a feat the iPhone has yet to match. So does that mean the iPhone isn't a Razr killer? Absolutely not. The real test of whether the Droid will be a success is not that it 'kills' the iPhone, but how it sells in comparison to it over time. Judging that based on less than a week of release is silly. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

It's readily apparent you know absolutely nothing about the Droid and haven't even bothered to watch nor read anything about it. I'll be sure to make note of that going forward, especially with regard to opinions you provide on other topics. -- trafficcloak.com - pptp/sstp vpn services |

1 edit | reply to djrobx Yeah actually I do need to crap on the IPhone.
The more people I can convince to avoid Apple products the less stressful my job and my personal life will become.
I just don't enjoy dealing with calls from frustrated Apple customers who don't want to accept that their products can't do what they want them to do because of limitations Apple has put in place yet still expect us to come up with a solution out of thin air...
And I especially dislike when friends, family and acquaintances come to me for advice on which phone, music player or computer to buy and then against my strongest advisory not to purchase an Apple product do so anyway and expect me to recover their music libraries after ITunes blows up for the fifth time, help them get around DRM limitations or discover that Macs crash like every other computer but can't run 80% of the software they want to run.
If one more person asks me to help them get their Palm data on to their IPhone and piss moans when I tell them their is no direct way and even with the round about way they'll not get it all... someone may get hurt.
Apple computer is the bane of my existence and if took the entire state of California falling off into the ocean to make it go away that would be fine with me. |

Does the iPhone fit all your needs, great, but don't get your knickers in a twist because it is not the best choice for me. Has the iPhone been successful for Apple? Certainly, but so too was the Razr for Motorola. There are industry analysts that predict Android phones will be outselling iPhones by 2012. Time will tell. I have a lot of things laying about that WERE great technology, HP rpn calculators (which I still use today), Palm OS devices, Sony Beta, etc. Technology moves very quickly, what was cutting edge yesterday being replace with something new today. |
