1 edit | AT&T no go 3G, Sprint has EVDO Rev. A!!! As an AT&T customer I have to actually rely on Sprint Mobile Broadband for internet service because AT&T can't get off their asses and role out nationwide 3G.
on EVDO Rev. A, I get regularly 1.8-2.5Mbps down and 256-450Kbps up.
What's ironic is AT&T and Sprint share the same damn cell tower. 2 different technologies, but Sprint has a couple of T1s for their EVDO Rev. A.
20 miles to the east, I can get a 3G from AT&T on my iPhone 3GS. I can get 1.6-2.2Mbps down and I'm betting they have fiber connections to the towers.
I figure if I wait long enough, Sprint may have WiMax (4G) coming off their tower that they share with AT&T and AT&T will still only have EDGE in my area. |
