| Great ad idea... Maybe Sprint should run a TV ad now showing a map of there 4G coverage, next to a map of AT&T and Verizons 4G coverage. I hear that type of ad works well.

Seems Sprint may be on the upswing anyway. At least a large analyst firm thinks that Sprint will stop the loss of customers in the 4th qtr and gain customers next year as well.

Credit Suisse upgraded the wireless carrier, predicting the company will stop losing net subscribers in the last few months of the year.
Chaplin said Sprint's subscriber base should remain flat in the fourth quarter, helped by the growth of cheaper, prepaid calling plans. That would be the first time in two years that Sprint's customer base hasn't shrunk.
He expects the company to add 300,000 subscribers in 2010. On top of that, Virgin Mobile USA, which Sprint has agreed to acquire for $483 million, should add 1.2 million subscribers, Chaplin said.

Sprint Nextel on notice for possible credit downgrade
The news followed Monday’s announcement from Sprint to lay off 2,000 to 2,500 jobs systemwide — a move that could save the company $350 million annually in labor costs. Most of the cuts, including an unspecified number at its Overland Park headquarters, will occur by year-end.
