Re: what kind of moron ? said by ErikRP:I'm seeing it more and more often, particularly when I get my NZB files from binsearch.org. Sorry to dump on them, but it is frustrating to download a few TV shows only to un-RAR them and see "Click here for password.url". Arrgh. Hopefully this is just the latest fad de jour and it fades away quickly. With any luck such morons will find better things to do with their time, like try suicide or some other useful pursuit. Fight them by testing out the release before downloading the whole thing. Quite easy to do. |

ErikRP join:2004-11-06 Winnipeg, MB | Yes, I could do that - but since it doesn't take that much longer to download a whole file versus part of it, and requires me to manually check it anyway, it's still a waste of my time. |

True. I am sure someone out there could create a downloader or maybe sabnzbd could add the feature where it would test to see if you need a password to extract the files before downloading the whole thing. If so it would alert you and stop the download. That way you could choose a different release instead. Not sure if that is even possible though. |

| Not as easy - or satisfying - as stopping the jerk(s) responsible for this, but there are ways to get around their spam.
As suggested earlier, there are several sites that do a good job of weeding out that garbage, including Merlin, TVNZB, etc. |

The thing is you waste time by doing that but I am all for stopping the person doing it still though. Just saying. I think if you ignore it sooner or later they stop. Not saying always but most of the time I would think. Still it would be awesome to be the one to stop them that is for sure! |
