Re: I didn't leave DSL, DSL left me Except for the part about the squirrels, that sounds exactly like a recent experience I had with Alagasco. Called to get my gas connected for the winter, they set up an appointment for two days later, but they don't do time windows shorter than 7 a.m.-5 p.m. This meant I had to take off from work all day, and they never came. Called in just before closing time, and they had no record of the order. I was very nice to the rep, but I let her know I was not at all happy. She then said she could set me up for the next available day, to which I said NO, I couldn't keep taking annual leave to have my gas turned on. After several times on hold, she finally got someone to come out that evening to do it. Then, almost two weeks later, guess who shows up: a guy from Alagasco with an order to turn on my gas. Unbelievable!
I don't think it's so much a telco thing as a monopoly utility thing. |
