| Android forum? It seems, with the ever growing popularity, it would be nice to have a place to discuss all things related to the Android mobile phone OS. App development, tricks, tweaks, apps, etc.
The iPhone crowd has »All Things Macintosh, the Windows Mobile crowd has »Microsoft Help. The individual carrier forums don't seem to be the right place because the Android OS is being adopted by multiple carriers and what gets posted under one carrier might/will be applicable to the other carriers also and missed by people who don't subscribe to that carrier.
If not a new forum, where would be the best place to discuss such things? -- Don't touch that, it's the history eraser button you fool! |

Re: Android forum? I agree with usa2k you already have a forum for this. It doesn't seem to me there's such a market and demand for Android to warrant it's own forum. |

| For all things Google There is Google search optimization Adwords Android for cell phones and netbooks Google Wave GMail Apps Google Voice Gizmo5 purchase Chrome Browser Chrome OS YouTube Perhaps even the Google CSS tools like Reset.css ... And many more things Google is pursuing/has pursued
Google, like Microsoft, is big enough to deserve it own melting pot with Tags to allow easy sifting of the different Google interests.
I can see how a person interesting in the Tech side of Android won't find cell phone enthusiasts sharing the programming details of the product.
I can see how an Everything Google forum could work in DSLR's favor to attract the Google Tech crowd.
Sorry. Too late to link all those references! --

| reply to Willy said by Willy:I agree with usa2k you already have a forum for this. »Cellphones, Providers, and Plans is for hardware, providers and plans. I don't see where an Operating System and how to develop apps for it fits in there at all.
said by Willy:It doesn't seem to me there's such a market and demand for Android to warrant it's own forum. Multiple phones on every carrier worldwide, 15,000 apps and quickly growing, projected to outsell iPhone by 2012, nah no market there. -- Don't touch that, it's the history eraser button you fool! |

| reply to RenHoek So you all think it is better to have stuff strewn all across the site like it currently is?
I've seen Android related posts in at least 5 different forums on the site. -- Don't touch that, it's the history eraser button you fool! |

I didn't say there was no market I said it "isn't such a market and demand for Android to warrant it's own forum". It doesn't need it's own forum, here. With iPhone lumped in with All Things Macintosh I doubt you have much chance for an Android only form.

I think with the big helpful community of DSLR some good things could come out for having a Google forum or Android forum.

Google has alot of good products and open source Android is riding the wave of the future for those products and software, having a forum to discuss their services would benefit all here.

You object, but can't list a reason why, because you probably don't even know why. -- I am hotter than phone sex with a blind girl. |
