Re: Which router?

Just to clarify, the WRT54GL is the good one and is the same as a WRT54G v4. Versions 5-8 of the WRT54G are not that great and I would avoid them.
Interesting. You say my post about avoiding Linksys routers is "complete nonsense". Now you post this. I find this hilarious! Thanks for agreeing with me.

There are several other models of Linksys routers that work fine as well. I was simply pointing out a caveat of that particular model which by no means puts us in agreement.

D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, all have good and bad models. Calm down.

How lucky am I to have known someone who is so hard to say good-bye to.

I'm sure this is true as it is with any company that produces several different models of any given product. How it is that Linksys get so many bad reviews that match the experience my friends and I have had to the letter?

Trust me, I'm calm. Trust trying to prevent the OP from making a mistake, and now I've offended the Linksys fanboys. Oh dear.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Walmart saves the average family $3,100 per year, whether they shop there or not.

Nice quote. I'd rather help the OP than remain silent. I don't see anywhere where you would have to do this with a D-Link or Netgear router which I recommended in a previous post!
