Actually, there is light that your eyes cannot see that cameras can. Infrared lights. Just try it with a normal TV remote control and a video camera or digital camera, pointing the remote right at the lense and pressing buttons. Blocks out most of the picture.
If it hasn't already been created, something to use infrared lights could easily be mounted around a license plate and be always on and always blind red light cameras and other video cameras that would try to take the shot.
I've already seen a proof of concept on this where someone was wearing a strap around their neck with an infrared light on it that was caught on camera with a bright light in place of their face on a video. |

If our eyes can see it then so can a camera. Exactly. myth already busted. The best way is to "adjust" the plate with some white or off-white tape so that the numbers/letters look different. We had a guy down here do that and got away from like 3 tickets before he was caught - because the camera photo never matched his actual plate number. |
