A DLink DIR-655 is an excellent model router for use with FiOS. One of the main things I like is it displays the connection table. You can refresh it and it will show you the TTL, then when the connection expires, it falls right off the list.

It may not be for everyone, though. You'll need to get your router's connection to the ONT (which is as close to a modem as you're going to get) switched over to cat5. That can be done cheaper if you're handy at wiring and patient at tech support. :)

If you're neither, you can get a tech visit to make the change, although it will cost you. $89 appears to be the current rate.

The result is when you reach the maximum number of connections, it won't allow any new ones. Existing connections seem to stay open.
