Re: OK guys and gals--avast! related

hey jadinolf, you know that I'm a die hard avast fan, but I had to delete the beta. During the latest definition updates it gave one of our laptops a bsod error. I had to do a system restore and un-install the beta. It's not ready for prime time yet, and I think when it does come out of beta, I might wait for the first program update.

Till then I'll use 4.8 on most of my rigs, and MSE on my wife's laptop.

I recently tried MSE for a while after I uninstalled the beta on one of my boxes. It seemed fine except I never heard "Virus data base has been updated" in a north American accent.

The beta is now working fine once I established the smtp port.

Now it will be a female voice telling you about the update, finished scan, etc.

Not as professional.

Yep, that's why I posted this. The earlier releases were alphas in my opinion.

Good luck with it.
