seems a ton of my older games just went poof and one of my favorites , alpha centauri is now stating that "CPU NOT SUPPORTED" funny as my other machine that i dont update and keep offline is running this and many many other games perfectly fine.
at this rate i might as well migrate to wine and linux as XP and windows is quickly going terdy for uses. forget windows 7 i can't afford it nor vista for its hardware costs.
GO google chrome.....and linux...
also funnier still my encoding software i bought legally to shrinkwarp xvids to smaller h264 mp4s and to recode my mp3s to aac is now so slow on this 3ghz that the un-updated 800mhz i have is FASTER. seems ms is really trying to break XP users to move to there newer OS's not realizing two things.
And you know thats called progress. I hear what your saying.I can't afford to keep up any more myself.I'm on disability and on a fixed income and I find it hard to find the money to keep up with it all.I probably wasted enough money in my life time trying to keep up with the hardware and software with my PC's.Its a never ending cycle. Such is life. I'm going to stop and smell the coffee.
