Re: [VULNERABILITY] IE6 and IE7 0-Day Exploit Reported

Tried the exploit when matunga first posted it and Avira caught it.

Just had a thought, maybe MS is releasing these type of exploits to try and get people to move to IE8, lol.

If you lock down IE6 and maybe also have other good protection in place, IE6 is fine.

I do know they are pushing heavily to have people move to IE8, and EXCEPT FOR THE UI, it's a better browser. However, for the first time ever, you can't customize the size of the top menu bars. In IE6, I've got everything---menu icons, address bar, links bar, no search on ONE line, giving me a nice large browser window. In IE8, you're forced to accept the 3-line format and the existence of the search box (though you can customize some icons and size), and those many lines, along with the tabs, takes up a lot of room at 1024x768.

If they want the public to accept new things, the user experience must get BETTER, not worse. I was sure when I first installed IE8 on one machine (and it's still just on one of my machines) that I'd just have to search for the way to get all that stuff on one line, and was floored to find out you can't (and many complained about the same thing.)
