Line Sync issues (dsl)

Hey there i'm suffering from sync issues through out the day at certain times through out the day odd times though 12pm, 4pm then between 11pm til 12am i dont have a clue what causes these issues could anyone help shed some light on this.

I have noticed after sync the SNR value stays the same or goes up or down by 0.1 my snr at the moment is 6.0, plus when i do change there are slight speed changed in sync i.e. if i was synced at 8128/448 it could change after resync to 8096/448 or 7990/448 which is odd. The modem logs just state Lcp down, Lcp allowed to come up etc.....

Extra details my IP profile remains the same 6.5 -7Mb and i still get FULL speeds. I am using a DG834Gv4 Router (netgear)

Are you having any problems at all, or are these just "observations"?

If it isn't broken, it doesn't need fixing, and a lot of people would be delighted with the speeds you are getting

No, that isn't a problem, that is a characteristic of your (apparently) pretty good connection.

A problem might be slow browsing, excessive lag on gaming, poor downloads, etc.

Are you seeing any of those problems, or just the "observations" of sync drops?

I use the Netgear GT model combined with the DMT tool software.( I don't use the Netgear firmware) This enables me to see line stats any time of the day. My logon SNR is 6.0 but with the DMT it goes down to 0.8 to 1.2 and then will vary up or down through the day. Your on a standard line so the variation your concerned about means very little i.e. not worth bothering about.

Because I have no idea what operating system your both using or what Broadband package I can only suggest you download a prog called TCPOptimiser.(free) read the info re settings and run it . See if you or your Father get any uplift in speed..
Look here for a reply I gave to another question re speed and how to setup the prog.
»[Fiber] WinXP gets much slower download speed than Ubuntu
