How many of you have actually tried AT&T?

Wow, look at all you Verizon fans!

Have many of you actually *used* AT&T, or are you just jumping on a bandwagon? I ask because I use AT&T (in fact I have four lines through them) and my experience has been very good.

Yes, the data and voice is a good thing to have. When I'm talking on my iPhone I get a quiet audio notification that an email or text message has come in. Killer app? No. Handy? Absolutely.

As for the coverage? I live in a metro area, and 3G works everywhere I go. Period. Never had a problem with it.

In my travels, I have certainly spent lots of time on EDGE. Not the greatest, to be sure...but it works, and I can still use my phone.

It seems as though Verizon is trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist, and has people buying it hook, line, and sinker.

It's good marketing, and nothing more.

It's interesting to watch though. AT&T seems to be suffering the same fate as Microsoft. There's nothing inherently wrong with them- rather it's become "fashionable" to bash them.

I not only use AT&T but I have a Verizon phone too.

AT&T is from work, Verizon is personal phone.

I have AT&T with an iPhone. The service down here rocks. 3G speeds are fast and consistent. E-mails get pushed to my phone immediately. Never a problem.

But that doesn't mean squat if I can't use my stellar service when I travel the country using my "national" calling plan!

I had AT&T for 6 years, but I just dropped them for T-Mobile in my area.

I haven't been this happy with coverage and data use since I first got POTS and DSL at home.

Plus....you know....

I used Verizon in my area for over eight years and never had a single dropped call. I got an iPhone a few months ago, and boy was I surprised. I never realized how good I had it with Verizon until I experienced the pure shittiness of AT&T.

Have had it for 3 years now due to the iPhone

and before I moved to DC, I lived in several major cities with it and I found the service to be a joke. Literally, an absolute joke. Dropped calls OFTEN, poor reception in many locations, and other issues.....and I got a new iPhone twice to make sure it wasn't the phone.

I admit that in the last few months, I have found the service to improve but beforehand?

Wow, just terrible

And I know MANY with iPhones who enjoy their phones and live with their service but not one would ever say anything remotely positive about their overall AT&T service
