The speed issue you're experiencing is due a hardware limitation of the device. The device has a max WAN to LAN throughput of 11.5Mbps, however after configuration overhead you'll see an average of 6-8Mbps, and if you have any firewall rules, or blocked sites configured you'll see even slower speeds.Unfortunately the only resolution is to purchase a more up to date device such as the FVS338.
