| cast off verizon habits you all need to understand that frontier is in cast off former Verizon land.. so there isn't any competition, therefore the only game in town (haha, dsl.. super dsl 2+, woohoo!) can nickel & dime the consumer... except that DSL modems are dirt cheap! for a rental of $7 a month, you could *BUY* your modem in under a year-- the rest is gravy to frontier if your *renting* at that rate. $168 for a modem is b/s, not for dsl!! TRY $40-60.. in some northeast states (IN REAL BROADBAND DEPLOYMENT ZONES) with verizon & cablevision you'll find them even cheaper at garage sales and being thrown away.. as dsl isn't used... FTTP & cablemodems are.. |
