Re: Motherboard - installing CPU, cooler, RAM Back in the old days (yeah, OLD!) I did it with the motherboard installed, but, starting about a decade ago or so I started installing at least the CPU and HS/F since then. There is less stress to the mainboard mounting stuff on it while on its antistatic foam mat nice and flat on a static free table.
