Verizon (like Han Solo) did indeed fire first. -- Some assembly required, your mileage may vary, no pixels were harmed in the writing of this post. Brain cells, though, are a different matter. Given Apple's growing fan base and Android's over-hyped, yet mediocre entrance into the market, I don't think Apple has much to worry about anytime soon. Having said that, I do think VZ will snag an iPhone if the financials can be worked out between the two companies. I don't think Apple's latest advertisements are that vigorous, nor do I think they'll drive VZ to shun Apple away. |

 | Me, too. I specifically chose it over the iPhone because it's more flexible (although not as pretty). iPhone is simpler, though, so it's going to have more mass market appeal... Android will do well with the "geek market." |

AVonGaussPremium join:2007-11-01 Boynton Beach, FL | reply to fAcEtIOUs Its only been bloggers and/or self proclaimed industry analysts that have talked about the iPhone "going to Verizon". Neither Verizon or Apple as far as I have seen recently has publicly indicated they wanted to make a deal happen. A CDMA/EVDO version of the iPhone could happen, but so far it has not which in my opinion makes it less likely that it will. All those job postings that have helped fuel the rumors more than likely have to do with LTE rather than a CDMA/EVDO version of the iPhone. |

Android is going to be where it's at in the foreseeable future. |

 | reply to Cheese HTC Hero on Sprint... It's shallow, I know, but I really didn't like the style of the Droid and every Motorola I've had has fallen apart within a year. Plus, the Hero is getting the 2.0 upgrade once HTC updates their UI to deal with it... |

It is just like any other industry. Look at the companies that are listed as prefered brands. They do it to get the money. Once the contract is over, and the money is gone they will go with someone else. |

I know some iPhone users that have jumped ship for the Android.
Apple's latest ad is false considering that video showed it "in the heart of AT&T's network" and lagged and lagged and lagged. Apple fans love Apple but won't love a partner if they lie. They love the phone and hate the network.
I never got the hype of the iPhone and its outrageous plans and prices at AT&T. Go to Apple's boards and see the hate.
Actually, I thought the iPhone worked best jailbroken in the heart of TMobile's network.
Of course, at $50 a month, get a jailbroke phone and use Boost. |

en102Canadian, eh? join:2001-01-26 Valencia, CA | reply to fAcEtIOUs It comes down to more of 'is Apple building an iPhone with a CDMA chipset'. They 'could' cheaply reband for AWS and sell on T-Mobile w/o any issue. Putting in another chipset/technology that Apple has never supported may be a bigger issue / cost in the long run, as 9/10 devices globally use GSM/UMTS. -- Canada = Hollywood North |
