Re: Could this kill Verizon getting iPhone next year ?

Apple better watch it.
Given Apple's growing fan base and Android's over-hyped, yet mediocre entrance into the market, I don't think Apple has much to worry about anytime soon. Having said that, I do think VZ will snag an iPhone if the financials can be worked out between the two companies. I don't think Apple's latest advertisements are that vigorous, nor do I think they'll drive VZ to shun Apple away.
Pfft, I love my android powered device!

Me, too. I specifically chose it over the iPhone because it's more flexible (although not as pretty). iPhone is simpler, though, so it's going to have more mass market appeal... Android will do well with the "geek market."

I have a Moto Droid (Android 2.0) and I also am really enjoying it.

That doesn't change the market share that the iPhone dwarfs the android platforms with.

I have a "old school", first-gen G1 and I'm still happy as hell with it.

HTC Hero on Sprint... It's shallow, I know, but I really didn't like the style of the Droid and every Motorola I've had has fallen apart within a year. Plus, the Hero is getting the 2.0 upgrade once HTC updates their UI to deal with it...

I just the Sprint Hero HTC over this past weekend. First touch screen for me. So I'm still learning it. Overall I like it.

I'm beginning to think though, the timing of AT&T raising the ETF could possibly be due to all the Android phones coming out. One way to keep people from switching over?? A lot of the forums I've been reading ove rthe last couple weeks have had several iPhone users switch over to Androids.

I'm waiting for the update to 2.0 from Sprint.
