Re: Brand New WRT54GL V 1.1 Very Poor Performance Thanks for taking the time to help. I took your advice and reset the router and at first the speeds are blistering, about 18ms latency. However, about 1/2 hour later the speed starts suffering. I tried resetting the router three times and each time the result was the same, it starts off very efficient but then degrades (I just tested my ping again and it is showing 2811ms). I have done absolutely nothing to the settings. I wonder why this is happening? I use a Motorola cable modem I got from Shaw cable here in B.C. |

Nope. And the first few times after I rebooted the router I enabled WPA security so I'm certain no one else was piggybacking on the signal. I'm going to take it over to the father-in-laws tomorrow evening and see how it runs on his modem. |
