 | Bye Bye TWC My newest bill just came in the mail. Went up from $110.94 to $125.21. I have two HDTVs with DVRs. No movie channels. $125/mo is just insane.
DirecTV is coming out Saturday... HD service on two TVs, one DVR, $55 for first year (thanks AT&T for the promo package) and $85 after that.
TWC can pound sand... |
|
 | That's why we switched to DirecTV back in 2002. TWC wanted MORE for cable WITHOUT the premium channels than DTV did for everything. TWC wanted something like $110.00 back in '02. I'm not paying anywhere that for DTV now, and I have 3 DVRs, HD service, HD Xtra and HBO/Showtime. |

You can't make all the people happy all of the time. But it should be common sense to shoot for the majority. |

 | reply to jay_bob Good luck with that crap disk on your home. How attractive. Plus you think rates won't go up with them? Your high! |
|
 | That "crap disk" is giving me around 150 SD channels, around 50 HD channels, around 50 audio channels, and HD DVR for roughly $70/month. Comcast can't even get close to that price. As for attractiveness, the dish is tucked away on a ground-mounted pole by the back corner of my house, so it's only visible if you walk back there. You can see the A/C unit more clearly than you can see it. Much less visible than all the VRADS AT&T has scattered around my neighborhood.
I'll keep my "crap disk", thank you very much. |

 | reply to ISurfTooMuch Wow 150 HD channels, you really bought into DirecTVs marketing, can you say SUCKER?
How many HBOs and Cinemax's do they have in HD, do they have Travel Channel HD, ESPN U HD, BBC America HD, Hallmark Movie Channel HD, AMC HD, IFC HD, MSNBC HD, HLN HD, TCM HD? Time Warner has contracts in place with many many more HD channel providers then DirecTV does, and in many markets they're starting to dethrone DirecTV and their pathetic, lame excuse for HD offerings. DirecTV has the WORST HD line up around. Dish Network is better, Verizon Fios is better, AT&T U-Verse is better and TW is better. DirecTV sucks!
You do know DirecTVs HD channel count includes about 30 HD PPV channels, 8 HD distant networks (NY and LA ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates) that very few people qualify for and out of market RSNs, which are all but useless unless you enjoy 30 showings of Best Damn Sports Show. When it comes down to it DirecTV has about 70 HD channels, I get 94 from Time Warner.
Enjoy your vastly inferior pizza pan. I had DirecTV for a while and wouldn't wish their pathetic excuse for a TV service on my worst enemy. |
