| It's the economy stupid!  The corporatist think that consumers have unlimited financial resources. TiVo's corporate parasites are victims of the economy. The pay forever subscription model sucks. I bought a Panasonic DVR/DVD Recorder for around $250.00 in 1999 or 2000, it still functions as it originally did. Granted it would not record one program while the viewer watched another. Unfortunately the then recently introduced digital cable subscriber terminals, only allowed recording or viewing one program at a time anyway, from the digital tier. When I asked Adelphia for a solution to the problem they recommended renting an additional digital terminal for $6.95 per month and by the way do not forget the additional $6.00 fee for the digital outlet. $12.95 per month forever to record one program while viewing another program was highway robbery. |
