Re: [DSL] Optimizing Connection • Set the MTU in The Doctor and in the router to 1430.
• The router should be set to ALLOW pings. So the 'Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port' box should be checked/Yes.
• The MODEM is syncing at your advertised rate; so that is good.
• Your signals are all OK.
• It looks to me that you are getting good speeds using the local test sites, but the long distance speed tests are a mixed bag. On the surface everything looks OK.
• It would help if you can get the LQT to work.
• Lets go backwards ... Go to Start/ Programs/ Accessories/ Command Prompt and type the following:
tracert dslreports.com
Let it run and then C&P what you get.
tracert yahoo.com
Now pick any local site and do the same thing. Sometime the tracert will not if you don't put www. in front of the site. -- "You can observe a lot by watching". Yogi Berra |
