1 edit | Unable to make an Apple iPod Touch connect to my new WRT54GL Hello.
I am trying to set up my client's iPod Touch (bought it over a year ago; using firmware v2.2 (5G77)) to connect to my new encrypted Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. After we entered the password (case sensitive too and WPA shared key) like five times, it said "Failed to join 'FooBarWRT54GL'" right away.
The router uses latest firmware v4.30.13 with these wireless settings: Wireless Network Mode: Mixed (want to support both B and devices/clients). Wirless Network Name (SSID) Example: FooBarWRT54GL Wireless Channel: 1-2.412GHZ Security Mode: WPA2 Personal WPA Algorithms: TKIP+AES WPA Shared Key Example: Abunchofletters aspacetoo
I assume this device can do WPA Personal since it saw the WAP and asked for a password. We had no problems with an over year old 15" MacBook Pro (2.4 Ghz and Mac OS X 10.5.8), and it was easy as cake.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance. -- Ant @ »antfarm.ma.cx and »aqfl.net. Please do not IM/e-mail me for technical support. Use the forum! Disclaimer: The views expressed in this posting are mine, and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer |

I'd really start by trying to connect sans encryption. Try AES only as well before TKIP+AES. I'm also assuming you're not filtering by MAC. |

1 edit | I got a reply from »discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp···10650288 thread that fixed the issue. I had to do the configurations manually. Not sure why picking my router SSID and entering its password/passkey didn't work correctly. Weird! -- Ant @ »antfarm.ma.cx and »aqfl.net. Please do not IM/e-mail me for technical support. | reply to antdude 1. Try to connect with no encryption on either end. If that works, then it's likely a password issue. 2. Try to connect with WEP with a very simple password like newyork or 1234567890 if using hex. 3. If the previous two suggestions work, then it's a password issue and it's likely to be the "space" that you mentioned.
I've had issues personally trying to use spaces in a password using WPA. |

It is already resolved. Had to do a manual configuration. -- Ant @ »antfarm.ma.cx and »aqfl.net. Please do not IM/e-mail me for technical support. Use the forum!
