no. but waterloo does have a really old antiquated cable system that needs updating. its very neglected. hopefully this will be a reason for them to fix the problems

Yes, Cedar Falls, right next to Waterloo, has a municipal utility that provides cable TV and cable-based Internet service.

And there have been several abortive attempts to copy Cedar Falls in Waterloo. This is a preemptive strike.

It is ALL about competition. Just like Cox launched its first 50/5 "ultimate" tier in Lafayette, La where muni fiber LUS is serving up 50/50...and Cox offered it outside of the city as well where there are mutterings about inviting LUS in...

No coincidences here.
