Re: DSL speed and phone lines. At higher provisioned speeds, DSL signals are more prone to even minor interference causing a drop in performance. The branch house wiring to other jacks after the NID can reflect DSL signals, attenuating them. A whole house splitter effectively eliminates the DSL signals from all house wiring except for the data run feeding your modem.
