What baffles me is that the telcos got so large they made them split per being regulated. (BELL) WHy are the Cable Companies not regulated? The cable companies have spent private money to build their networks. Yes, they probably unfairly got some franchises that helped them become what they are, but they used their money to build, unlike how AT&T started out.
It's the same reason Verizon (made up of former Bells) doesn't have to resell FIOS to every company that wants to sell into people's homes. Because they are building it with private funds. Their copper plant was subsidized by the government so they must still resell it. |
